OECDが1980年9月に採択した「プライバシー保護と個人データの国際流通についてのガイドラインに関する理事会勧告」に記述されている次の8つの原則です。目的明確化、利用制限、収集制限、データ内容、安全確保、公開、個人参加、責任の原則です。
8 OECD principles
The following eight principles are set out in the Council Recommendation on Guidelines for the Protection of Privacy and the International Flow of Personal Data, adopted by the OECD in September 1980. These are the principles of clarification of purpose, usage restrictions, collection restrictions, data content, security, disclosure, individual participation, and responsibility.
